Our first official “Coffeehouse Friday” Poetry Reading will be held during all three lunch periods on Friday, October 26, 2007. We invite all students and faculty to come sign up to participate in the poetry reading for your lunch period! You may read one of your own original poems or a poem from a poet of your choice. If you are looking for poems, try one of these resources:
- Creekview High School Poetry Page
- A great poetry book from our print collection (available only on campus until 10/5)
- Lit Finder (come by the library for our school user name and password)
- The Unquiet Library’s del.icio.us recommended poetry pages
We will also be selling autumn themed yummy treats for a minimal price, including “Autumn Spice Cake” and caramel apples baked by Mrs. Hamilton’s own mom, JoAnn!
You can either come by the media center to sign up with Mrs. Hamilton or you may email me, Mrs. Hamilton, at buffy.hamilton@cherokee.k12.ga.us with the author and name of your poem(s). Each participant may read a maximum of three poems. Please sign up for the poetry reading by Tuesday, October 23, 2007.
